Twiggs Lane

Please be advised that following a site meeting with representatives from the Police Traffic Unit and Highway engineers and the contractor this morning it has been agreed that in the interest of road safety a Right Turn Ban will be introduced at both Twiggs Lane junctions with the A326 for the duration of the safety improvement works. Its hoped that this will be in effect from Monday 15th March 2010.

Whilst it is understood that this may cause some inconvenience to some, it is essential to protect the safety of the workforce road users and pedestrians for the period of the construction.

Marchwood is a great place to live.

We have lots of facilities close to hand. In the village there are over 80 acres of public open space, plenty of green areas to walk, sit and enjoy.

We are a developing village with easy access to both the New Forest and Southampton.

There is a strong sense of community here in the village. We have a thriving Village Hall with many activities on offer there. Links with Local Groups and the Parish Council are strong.

We are also very lucky to be served by excellent schools and Local Business. You can access the schools own web sites from this site, as well as the Business of the Parish Council in the form of minutes and agendas. A Calendar of Meetings giving details of all the Parish Council meetings to be held is also available online.

You can view selected articles from the Village News publication that is distributed by a band of loyal volunteers throughout the village four times a year. (Spring 2010 edition now available online)

I hope you enjoy using the website.

Alan Shotter
Chairman Marchwood Parish Council.

Allotments

Marchwood has a high level of interest in allotments but we do not have anywhere to put them. Some residents may like to consider this as an alternative: www.landshare.net
