Last year it was voted the best ever village fete – and it’s back again for 2009!
Marchwood Fete will take place at Lloyd Recreation Ground on July 4th, with the theme of the ‘Wild, Wild West’.
Beginning as usual at 12 noon, the Fete will continue for an extra hour, finishing at 5 pm.
As well as a return visit by the popular Solent Dog Display Team, Jonathan the Jester, the Fijian dancers and many more Marchwood favourites.
The event will include a fancy dress parade, merry-go-round, Sweet Soul barbecue, Pilgrims’ beer tent and much more.
There will be many of our favourite stalls, a grand prize draw, live music, and lots of surprises!
The fancy dress parade will start at 12.00.
With the Wild Wild West theme, there is scope for lots of colour and fun, and prizes for the best costumes.
Grand Draw tickets will be on sale for 50p each, at various places
throughout the village before the day and also at the fete.
Don’t miss out.
Watch the village notice boards for a list of where to buy your tickets.
We’d like to thank our generous sponsors, including Veolia, Ocado, ABP, Marchwood Parish Council, Fullers, Oceanic Estates and Sunnyfields for their support this year.
As always, special thanks to the 17th Port and Maritime Regiment based in the village who are providing tents and other equipment on the day.
Without them it would be very difficult to put on such a great day.
The village fete would not take place without the dedicated voluntary work of the committee members.
However, more organisers are needed with general help around the field on the day.
If you can spare some time, please contact us.
Don’t forget – this event is run by villagers for the whole village.
So please support it.
